PFA
PFA (Perfluoro alkoxy) is a type of fluoropolymer, similar to PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene).
PFA is known for its high thermal stability, chemical resistance, and non-stick properties.
It is commonly used in the manufacturing of electrical insulation, gaskets, seals, and other
products that require resistance to harsh chemicals and high temperatures.
Properties
l Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to acids, bases, and chemicals
l High Temperature Stability: Maintains integrity at elevated temperatures.
l Non-Stick Properties: Non-stick for low friction and easy material release.
l Biocompatibility: Suitable for medical applications with contact with living tissues.
l Electrical Insulating Properties: High dielectric strength for electrical insulation.
l Low Permeability: Low gas and liquid permeability for containment.
Applications
l Chemical industry: Used in pipes, valves, and pumps due to excellent chemical resistance.
l Electrical Insulation: Ideal for wire, cable insulation with high dielectric strength.
l Medical Equipment: Biocompatible for tubing and components in medical applications.
l Semiconductor Industry: Purity and corrosion resistance for wafer carriers, fittings.
l Automotive Industry: Resistant to fuels, used in fuel hoses, gaskets.
l Food and Beverage Industry: FDA-approved for food processing equipment, tubing.
